Kaffibrugghúsið

Exiting news to us coffee lovers. Sonja Björk Grant, the undisputed queen of Icelandic coffee scene is opening a new place soon.  She started the Kaffismiðja (Coffee Smithy) that changed into Reykjavik Roasters when she left the place a few years ago. That place will open soon and is located in the hip district of the old harbor just west of the city center. Most of the coffee lovers here are waiting with some anticipation. Many of the old crowd from Roasters are already blogging and tweeting about it, and this post is a part of that Zeitgeist for a lack of a better word. Kaffibrugghúsið or the Coffee Brewery has a Facebook page.   Some pics from the place are on Facebook and here in Instagram as well.

More about this when time goes on.
The only thing I know is that I am exited and look forward to some great coffee from there.
I mentioned that the coffee place I frequent now, Kaffi Laugarlækur, gets its coffee from the roaster that is in partnership with Sonja Grant in opening this place. A very good sign indeed. The bar is about to be raised even higher in Reykjavik in the near future.
