Hveragerði for coffee and pizza

On my way to a week in the country side we stopped at the best pizza place in Iceland, located in the town of Hveragerði. The place is called Hoflandssetrið. The pizzas there are my favourite in the whole of Iceland. A must stop if passing through the town of Hveragerði. Totally worth it. 
After the pizza experience we asked around for a good place for coffee and got pointed to a new place called Skyrgerðin, or The Skyrfactory.

Skyrgerðin is a new coffee house and restaurant that just opened a short while back. The place looks very good, not typically Icelandic looking tho. We sat down and had Americano and a double Latte. Both tasted very good. They use Charqwa coffee, like many places do. The Americano was almost sweet, and I liked it. The double Latte was very good and potent as well. My partner loves her Latte, and according to her it was a very good cup. She is more an expert than I in the Latte game. I trust her oppinion when it comes to Latte  :) 

We sat down and enjoyd a calm atmosphere and a nice looking place. The cupcakes are homemade and looked very nice. The coffee there was the best I had on my whole week trip around the southern part of Iceland. We took our coffee in take away cups that need better lids to stay closed, but other than that, the coffee was very nice and I enjoyed it while on the road. 

It was not the cheapest coffee I have had. Was over 1000 kr. for two cups. A double latter raised the price considerably. At my local in Reykjavik, the Latte is a standard double.

To make the experience even more fun was the weather. A freak thunderstorm because of unstable weather system over Iceland, gave us a hailstorm in 19 degree hot weather. Lasted half an hour, but was fun. We got completely we just by walking from the supermarket to the car. The coffee saved the day :)
